Send samples (blood, biopsy, skin) of known at-risk species to DNA Barcode of Life researchers -- we need reference barcodes for a robust database. Contact the Administrator@BarcodingBushmeat.org for information on how and where to send samples. Do you have information on species impacted by the illegal trade in wildlife? Give us your suggestions for Species-at-Risk to be added to our database so that researchers can focus their efforts where most needed. Do you have knowledge about countries where DNA barcoding could be used to enforce existing laws? Let us know what countries could benefit most immediately from DNA barcoding so that researchers can focus on building up the appropriate reference barcodes and so that conservationists can work on training and capacity-building in regions that will be able to utilize this technology the soonest. |
